Your Leh Ladakh tour package in summer is all you need to bask in the glory of one of the most beautiful places in the world. Undoubtedly summers are the best time to visit Ladakh. A trip to the land of high passes in its peak blooming season is nothing less than a dream come true.

Ladakh

I always wanted to do a solo trip to Ladakh. Travelling on your own gives you the freedom of taking your own decisions. And I must say this was truly overwhelming and the best trip so far. Most importantly also because I decided to visit this beautiful heaven of stunning and breathtaking landscapes during summers. Summers bring a different vibe to the place, so make sure to choose your Leh Ladakh tour packages accordingly.

Although Ladakh looks like a painting turned into a reality during all seasons, it blooms during summers and offers majestic and magical views everywhere you go. The temperatures are very pleasant, ranging between 20-30 degree Celsius.

I made many friends on my journey along with beautiful memories. My journey brought to me an experience of a lifetime which I want to share with all of you to help make your trip even more exciting and pleasurable.

Knowing the culture of Ladakh was truly a fascinating experience. The culture of Ladakh centers around Tibetan Buddhism, the predominant religion housing the most purest Tibetan societies. Apart from just going for sightseeing, trekking or photography, Leh Ladakh tour package offers an extremely rich and colourful cultural lifestyle for visitors. There are stunning monasteries located all over the region which exhibits a purifying atmosphere to your soul. If you love history or if you like ancient architecture, then this is the perfect time to visit Ladakh

These monasteries also celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Locals from surrounding areas and distant places flock here to attend these festivals. Festivals are merry-making time in Ladakh when the most intriguing and barren land of Ladakh comes to life. The tourists and locals participate wearing colourful garments and perform masked dances and mimes representing the religion in various aspects.

Besides being packed with religious and cultural festivals, this season also offers an array of adventure activities such as mountain climbing, trekking, motorbike riding and many other heart pacing gigs.

Ladakh offers diversity with its seven different monasteries which consist of huge Lord Buddha statues, thangkas, artefacts, carvings, interesting art, wall paintings and relics of old times. The seven famous monasteries are Thiksey, Lamayuru, Alchi, Diskit, Spituk, Hemis and Shey. The view of the surrounding areas from these monasteries is jaw dropping and soul-stirring.

The views are absolutely splendid in Ladakh during summers. The lakes at Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri begin to melt, inviting various campsites to set up. The sights of the picturesque lakes will blow your mind. The sparkling blue lake standing ironically in the midst of snow clad mountains and beautiful blue skies offer tranquillity and peace.

Your Leh Ladakh tour package at the Zanskar river offers one of the best rafting experiences during summers. Watching the Leh Palace and its historic architecture was a sight to behold. Another interesting thing we did was to cross the thriving Nubra and Shyok river to reach Nubra valley, which also houses many beautiful monasteries. We also rode on double humped Bactrian Camels at the sand dunes of Hunder.

The flora and fauna of Ladakh is well preserved, and you can visit Hemis National Park to catch some of the most popular endangered species on this barren land including the famous snow leopard. At the end of the trip, we did some shopping at the local Tibetan markets for most authentic handicrafts, Pashmina shawls, woollen garments etc. We bought very beautiful souvenirs on our way back for our family and friends.

Besides getting acquainted with the culture and traditions, we also grabbed our chances to savour the delicacies of Ladakh. We tried the local butter tea, and I assure you for tea lovers; it is one of the must things to taste when you are in Ladakh. To make a trip in this current situation is definitely worth taking a risk. Make sure all the below mentioned are taken care of while you plan your next Leh LAdakh Tour package

👉🏼 As soon as you get down from the car, your luggage should be sanitised and carried till the cottage

👉🏼 Make sure they don’t let you in without sanitization and temperature check

👉🏼 Make sure the staff always had the mask and the shield on

👉🏼 Choose a stay that allows you to maintain social distancing as you don’t need to share your area with anyone else

👉🏼 Fresh and hot food should be served in their properly sanitized restaurant.

👉🏼 The area of the hotel should be big enough to enjoy nature and facilities without coming in contact with other people.

According to my opinion, For a year to come we might have to be extremely cautious in choosing our stays. Ensure that your hotel/homestay follows proper sanitization norms or choose the kind of stays that doesn’t at all need any precautions. The plus point is that many resorts are running post-covid discounts so that they are affordable for most people.

All in all, my Leh Ladakh tour package made my trip rejuvenating and calmed the soul. I would recommend all travel lovers to check Go2Ladakh for Ladakh packages during summers for the best sightseeing experience apart from taking all COVID guidelines into consideration.

Best ride for the trip

Considering the roads of Ladakh and the mountainous terrain, the right choice of ride is essential. Make sure the identification of the bike is based on sustainability and durability rather than good luck or popularity. Though your Ladakh tour package may offer few options, be sure to choose a bike that is strong and powerful enough to bear the high–altitude conditions, climb up the steep roads, and in cold weather conditions. A bike that is easy to handle, comfortable, and safe for the rider and pillion (if any) makes the journey successful and enjoyable. Here’s a list of the recommended options identified purely based on the experience of other bikers that have made the Leh Ladakh bike trip.

  1. Royal Enfield is the best choice for the Leh Ladakh road trip. Equipped with a powerful engine of 350 CC or 500 CC, it is ideal for carrying the rider and the luggage effortlessly through the steep inclines and surviving the rough terrain. Good suspension and comfortable seating position make this bike most comfortable for long journeys.
  2. Royal Enfield Himalayan is an ideal bike for off-road biking and rough terrain in wet weather conditions.
  3. Other than the Royal Enfield, the Bajaj Pulsar with a 220CC, 200CC, or a 150CC engine would be the right choice for the Leh Ladakh bike ride. You can comfortably embark on your journey on this bike, which is also one of the most popular in Indian markets.
  4. Hero Impulse is another option similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan to tackle the rough terrain, non-tarmac kind of riding in harsh weather conditions.

It helps to choose a bike that you have some riding experience with, even if it is through a Ladakh tour package. If not, then ride around Leh city for about 15-20kms to familiarize yourself with the bike. Knowing the mechanics of the bike, or at least some first aid tips will be an added advantage that helps service the bike in case of any problems. Your bike will be your soulmate and best buddy on this trip to Ladakh. Even in good condition smaller bikes can make it through the journey.

Things to pack

  1. Toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soaps, shampoo, comb, face-wash, etc.
  2. 4–5 pairs of socks
  3. Protective biking gears such as helmets, elbow pads, knee pads, gloves, UV sunglasses, and sunscreen lotions, bandana, balaclava.

  5. General medicines for headache, cold, cough, fever, bandages, ointments. Avoid taking painkillers at high altitude. Lip balm and mustard oil for moisturizing lips and skin.
  6. Eatables with high nutritional value. For example, take multiple packets of dried fruits, nuts, energy bars and biscuits, and other items that energize the body instantly. Chocolates are helpful when feeling nauseated on the bike, which is common during high altitude road trips. Quick bites at frequent intervals will help in keeping the body energized. Regular intake of water to stay hydrated is also very essential through the bike trip.
  7. To keep your lips and skin safe from dryness due to extreme cold climate, carry lip balm, moisturizer, mustard oil, and cold cream.
  8. Warm sleeping bag for camping along the route.
  9. Identity proof documents for roads on this route that require specific permits for bikers. Otherwise, also, it’s good to keep personal IDs such as either the PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport, or Voter ID. Make sure the bike documents are in order and accompanying you at all times during the trip for checking at check-post by military and local authorities.
  10. Gadgets – Mobile phone, camera, preferably a BSNL sim card, memory card, needs to be taken care of. If you are a photography enthusiast, then this place will let you capture unbelievable pictures of the abundant beauty of nature. BSNL network has the best coverage in Leh Ladakh. 11. Extra batteries and power bank for the phone.

The budget for a trip is mainly dependent on individual choices, tastes, and preferences. Here are top 5 tips for a budget trip to Ladakh –

When to go?

Every location has a peak season and off-season for tourists. Ladakh has its peak season in summers and monsoons, which is from April to September. Owing to the high altitude and extremely cold weather in other seasons, most tourists prefer to take a trip when the climate is pleasant. However, most costs are higher during this time. Hence, traveling just before the beginning of the peak season i.e., April or after it i.e., September would help in reducing the cost. Since demand is less, accommodation will be easily available and also cheaper. There will be better discounts due to fewer tourists and even the rush at the most popular places is less.

You will see that the cheapest Ladakh tour package is offered during the off-season.

How to travel?

Hiring a car, bike, or taxi is essential for the road trip in Ladakh. When you commute and stay in a group, the transport and accommodation cost is reduced considerably on account of sharing and group discounts. Dividing the price of a taxi among the entire group reduces the travel costs. You can also hire a tempo or a jeep as per your choice for a larger group. Self-driving or getting your bike or car is also an excellent option to reduce the cost.

Where to book?

Book taxis on the spot for a better deal as compared to booking online. Booking on the spot gives you a chance to negotiate the cost and offers flexibility in making the right choice. The taxi drivers can undoubtedly get you good deals if you travel at non-peak hours too.

Airfare rates are incredibly high during peak season. Hence, book your tickets in advance or look out for flash sale as applicable to help in saving money.

What to eat?

Eat at local dhabas as compared to luxurious restaurants to reduce the cost considerably. It also allows you to try out the local cuisine and get a taste of fresh Ladakhi food in general. You will also find home-cooked meals at the houses of Tibetan locals, which bring to you the feeling of Ladakh food in the real sense.

Where to stay?

Camping in Ladakh is a good option for budget stay. You can also opt to stay at guest houses or homestays, which are decent and economical for budget travel. These houses are clean with comfortable beds and toilets to make the stay suitable for travelers looking for small budget houses. Most Leh Ladakh tour packages provide appropriate options to choose from to make your accommodation cost-effective and comfortable.

Over recent years, a steep climb has been seen in the Ladakh Tourism industry. Most tourists want to make the most out of the Ladakh trip in a pocket-friendly manner. However, you may encounter tough, uncertain situations during your journey in Ladakh because of landslides, bad roads, AMS, health issues, etc. It is vital to set aside some money for this even if you have planned for the cheapest Ladakh tour package to reduce the overall cost of the trip.

Stay safe and enjoy this adventurous journey of a lifetime in Ladakh. The cost surely matters, but the experience is priceless!
